The Scalare Team were delighted to be able to host our first face to face gathering of the year at our ‘Together we Reignite’ event in Sydney.
We brought together tech founders, investors, advisors and many other important members of our Scalare community with over 80 guests joining us to enjoy the program and make new connections.

What the Scalare Team is excited about
The evening kicked off with Pernille Aggerholm, Head of Community and MC of the evening, introducing the growing Scalare Team.
Each person spoke about what their role is on the team, where they can offer support, and what they are currently excited about. With now seven team members and two non-executive directors on the team, it’s exciting to be able to offer a greater depth and breadth of expertise to our companies!
New founders join our vibrant portfolio and existing companies scale
It was a pleasure for Scalare to introduce four new portfolio companies togetherAI, Helio, STADIO and Slipstream to our community.
togetherAI
We heard a live pitch from togetherAI founder Josh Wilson, on their innovative mental health and wellness app for families, which puts kids in the centre of the experience. Designed to support the family, togetherAI enables the right conversations at the right time to build positive mental health and wellbeing.
Helio
Although unable to attend in person, Helio founders Peter and Laura Hall provided an engaging virtual pitch, introducing us to their next-generation advertising marketplace that connects buyers and sellers to access hard-to-find advertising placements across all media channels. Designed to revolutionise the way we buy advertising, the Helio marketplace bring much needed transparency to the process of sourcing and securing bookings, simplifying the advertising buying journey for any business, anywhere, anytime.
Stadio
Jo Healy, Director of Content & Media was up next, introducing us to STADIO, a next-generation Web3 enabled eco-system for the sporting industry. Through a suite of digital products, STADIO will enable the creation, collection and trading of NFTs (non-fungible tokens), allowing athletes to maximise their earning potential and giving fans unique rewards and benefits.
Slipstream Advantage
Our final new founders of the evening Wade and Ryan McDonough from Slipstream, have created a cloud-based digital transformation platform focused on the transport and logistics industry. Slipstream’s leading-edge technology solution solves the problem: how can we use technology to help transport businesses improve efficiency, whilst retaining operating margins? By managing, automating and optimising, Slipstream provides businesses with a customised toolkit to drive efficiency, empower management and employees and serve customers better.
Existing Companies Scale
It was a pleasure to welcome back some familiar faces and hear how our portfolio companies continue to grow.
We heard from FreeGuides, a peer-guided tour and experience platform; Cape, an expense management platform designed to help SMEs automate business expense processes; MyPass, a workforce management tool creating safe, more productive workplaces; and FlightCare Global, which uses technology to transform how health incidents are managed in the sky and on the ocean.
During the evening several of our founders referenced the ‘power of the Scalare network’ and how they have benefited from the support, advice and partnership of the community.

Panel discussion: 'The untapped potential of diversity in entrepreneurship’
A huge thank you also goes to our panel of the evening chaired by Scalare NED Rachel Hooke, we welcomed Barrenjoey Chief Economist Jo Masters, Director of Centre for Asian-Australian Leadership, ANU Jieh-Yung Lo and Scalare Partner and 'Be the Change' Advocate Jenny Li.
The lively discussion focused on the topic of how we continue to move forward with gender, race and culture equality and transform our industries. Such an important topic that we will continue to bring to light and take action on!
Scalare recap and future plans: doing the same things, but doing them better!
Finally, we heard from Scalare Partner Nick Roberts, looking back on the Scalare journey in the past few years and commenting on plans for the future. Here are some key takeaways from Nick:
Growth: We’re pleased with what we’ve achieved over the last few years of helping our talented founders, and we are seeing some real evidence coming through in the valuations.
Diversity: Scalare deliberately works with a diverse array of businesses that are trying to solve similar challenges. Touching on our earlier discussion, we definitely want to encourage greater diversity as it benefits all our businesses.
Network: 90% of the great companies we work with have come through an introduction from someone we know. We plan to grow the community and need your help! Our companies are looking to hire talented people and leveraging our community is critical for that.
Funding: The Scalare model is to invest early, spot talent before anyone else does, help our founders on their journey, and benefit from other investors coming in and helping grow those businesses. When we find a winner, we want to back them all the way – we know these businesses really well and we think they are destined for greatness. As we look to raise capital for follow-on rounds, please watch this space.
Our unique community
The final (and no less important) part of the evening saw everyone enjoying refreshments and chatting with founders at our ‘mini-expo’.
We can truly say that it is the collective energy and passion of the entire Scalare eco-system that contributed to making our evening a success.
