The Scalare portfolio and difference
The evening began with a Acknowledgement of Country from Pernille Aggerholm, Head of Marketing, Partnerships & Community; and an energetic introduction from our Emcee and active member of the Scalare Non-Executive Director Cohort, Luke Harvey Palmer.
Giles Bourne, Scalare Co-Founding Partner, kicked off with an overview of Scalare’s growing portfolio of exceptional technology innovators who are making an impact. The Scalare offering is not just about investment, and Giles explained how helping founders plug skills gaps from our experienced advisor network and offering a supportive community with an abundance of connections, resources, events and partnerships is vital to help our companies thrive.
An introduction to new founders, and momentum from existing companies
It was a pleasure for Scalare to introduce four new portfolio companies Loyalty Republic, Curiious, MasteRemit and Treety to our community.
Loyalty Republic
Co-Founder Katrina Gravelle introduced us to Loyalty Republic, Australia’s first bank and card agnostic loyalty program designed for both individual consumers and businesses. The first of its kind aimed at SME’s, Loyalty Republic is democratising loyalty, making the complicated process of establishing a loyalty program easy, for businesses of all sizes.
Curiious
Although Curiious' CEO Michelle Schuberg was unable to attend, their Head of Customer Success, Laurel Cook and Luke Harvey Palmer (in his role as Curiious NED), introduced the audience to Curiious’ interactive platform.
With a resource centre, virtual event and learning platform and social hub all in one location, some of world’s biggest brands are using Curiious to engage, train and develop both their employees and B2B audiences.
MasterRemit
Have you ever wondered how you’d send money overseas quickly, to help a loved one in a crisis? MasterRemit Co-Founder Hashim Omar’s engaging pitch introduced us to their innovative digital remittance service which makes it easy for people to send money safely, securely and quickly at low cost to their loved ones, including those who don’t have access to a bank account or financial institution. MasterRemit are solving an unbanked, underbanked and inclusion problem with their innovative fintech.
Treety Treety are brand new to the portfolio, and we were excited to have Co-Founders Mike and Hatim join us via video from the Netherlands. Treety have created a solution for a changing world of environmental challenges, with an impact tracking and reporting platform enables conscious investors and investees to measurably change the world. As communicating sustainability commitments becomes more crucial for businesses, this is an important addition to the Scalare portfolio.
Existing Companies Celebrate Momentum
Our audience was happy to welcome back some familiar faces and hear how they are scaling.
We heard from Helio, a revolutionary media space that simplifies advertising; STADIO, a next generation Web3 enabled ecosystem for brands and creators to produce, manage and montetise their own digital assets; and WithU, an audio-led fitness app delivering on-demand personal training by world-class coaches.
Carolyn Breeze on 'Lessons from scaling in troubling times'
A huge thank you goes to our guest speaker Carolyn Breeze, Chief Commercial Officer CCO at Zepto and member of the Scalare NED Cohort.
You could have heard a pin drop during Carolyn’s uplifting segment of the evening, as she captivated our audience with her insights on the Australian economy, which is currently seeing the largest market correction in 15 years.
Despite the challenges facing Founders this year, Carolyn’s research brought forth some insights to be happy about. Did you know that Australia is the most ‘capital efficient producer of Unicorns in the world’ (50% higher than any other market)? And though Australian founders have less access to capital – we do MORE with less. Carolyn spoke to the proven resilience and grit of Aussie founders in difficult conditions, the ingenuity and talent that is in obvious abundance, and the incredible opportunities that will be available to those who ride this wave.

Scalare's focus: partnerships and future plans
Pernille Aggerholm, Head of Marketing, Partnerships & Community took to the stage to announce some exciting new offerings for our Founder community from knowledge partners, and an update on our Be the Change program, and why is so important for investors and VCs to be making our own small steps to promote diversity and inclusion in entrepreneurship.
Scalare Partner Nick Roberts wrapped up the evening, celebrating the value of our community and how we can all assist in small ways – by sharing a job post, offering their talent, or making a vital connection. Our companies not only require capital but a mixture of skills, experience and support over time, to be successful. Which is exactly why Scalare exists - to add value during the times when it's really needed.
As Nick succinctly put it ‘the best Founders are forged in fire’ and we look forward to continuing the back them all the way.
